General Information
The instability of the global economic system, as well as the spread of the coronavirus, result in growing social tension and increased number of demonstrations and riots around the world.
The negative experience of many countries shows that riots inevitably lead to crime and violence, undermine government’s popularity and disrupt the implementation of necessary socio-economic and political reforms.
Responding to the global market demand Oboron Alliance consistently builds up competencies in the fields of special chemistry and explosives. One of the most promising segments is non-lethal ammunition used by police and other law enforcement agencies to quell riots and counter terrorism.
At the same time, the main distinctive feature of non-lethal ammunition is minimizing risks related to potential harm to rioters’ health (through temporary immobilization).
Main Goals
Ammunition for individual use
The experience of using ammunition in mass riots and clashes shows that the impact occurs at different distances, which can be conventionally divided into 3 main distances:
Oboron Alliance produces non-lethal ammunition used to affect rioters at all main distances. Not only does it help confronting crowds, but also makes a selective not-lethal impact on the organizers and coordinators.
The Legion System is a module placed on standard shields, capable of shooting traumatic, flashbang and irritating ammos.
The 12-charge quick-change cartridge allows to have all 3 groups of ammo at the same time, and if necessary determine the type to used.
The module is suitable for all types of shockproof and bulletproof shields of any manufacturer.
4-shot tubeless pistol PB-4SP (civilian version M-09 OSA)
Designed for law enforcement and special forces.
Distinctive features and advantages: absence of barrel, electric initiating circuit, lithium battery.
Used with special cartridges: traumatic, flashbang, signal and illuminating, marking and pepper gell (lachrymator).
The main task at a preventive distance is to prevent a direct clash with law enforcement servicemen. It’s crucial to avoid close contact and minimize health risks for both laow enforcement servicemen and citizens not participating in the riot.
The solve these problems, Oboron Alliance has developed a wide range of shots for under-barrel grenade launchers (GP-25, GM-94), as well as traumatic cartridges of caliber 18.5 mm.
These shots for under-barrel grenade launchers can also be used in operations of army special forces and other special services.
Ammunition for individual usage
Container-type ammunition
One of our most advanced products is the modernized system for shooting special non-lethal ammos Lafet, intended for remote control of the shooting to exert a psychophysical effect on the rioters.
Lafet is a container-type system for shooting 50-mm non-lethal ammos (flashbang, irritant and smoke actions). The system is mounted on the vehicle and controlled by an operator inside the vehicle. The system is equipped with a video camera, projecting and image on the control panel’s monitor.
Another advanced product is a complex for launching special non-lethal ammos VERESK-MP intended for riot suppression by psychophysical impact on rioters at a distance of 50-80 M.
The complex is a portable launcher weighing 10 kg and a set 30-MM flashbang and irritant ammos.
The cartridge houses up to 22 shots of caliber 30 mm.
The shots can be launched remotely.
Deployment time – less than 1 mi.
Shooting algorithm: single/salvo (2 or 3 shots).
Number of guaranteed shots – 220.
Onboard smoking container (BTD)
Onboard transport container is used for smoke screen formation and providing smoke covering of transport from the opponent’s aim fire and concealment of maneuvers of staff. It is established on auto and armored vehicles.
Conclusion
More than 30 types of non-lethal ammunition produced by Oboron Alliance are accepted for service in the police and other Russian laow enforcement agencies (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, National Guard, Federal Security service, Federal Protective service, Federal Penitentiary service).
These products are delivered to more than 35 countries (including the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Isreal).
